Reveal Yourself - Healing, it's what we do.

Our bodies are divine instruments of healing. It’s what they do. Without any intervention, our bodies mend and rebuild themselves, restoring us again and again to health.

Unfortunately what we do to them is a bit different. “I’m so stupid,” for tripping or kicking wrong or dropping a heavy weight. I think we often bypass the square fact of the matter and jump to our own stories of unworthiness.

I’ve done a lot of work to disassociate my injuries and failures from my worth, and it is tangly. It’s also not totally done, but most of the time if I fall and get hurt I yell, I CANT BELIEVE IT! Or, “Who left their scooter in the middle of the hallway?!!”or most often, “Arrrggggghhhhhhhh!” Yelling is a thing for me. I’m a yeller.

It upsets me when I hear people blame themselves for getting hurt etc. Sure, maybe we could have paid better attention, but beating yourself up often in front of people isn’t the answer. The power of the words is strong. When you beat yourself up out loud, it cements that feeling further into your awareness. Do you ever do this? Why do you think?

Just like our bodies are miraculous healing machines, so are our minds. Our spirit is resilient as can be. You can decide any time to start going easier on yourself. It might not happen right away, and it will likely take some adjustment. But just like physical healing, all it takes is time, patience and great care.

Next time you get hurt, be kind to yourself. It will go a long way.

Hearts,
