Whitney Lawless (she/they)

Welcome! I'm happy you are here. The desire to truly come home to your body and wisdom requires an immense amount of courage. We learn patterns based on internal adaptation to previous life experiences and external circumstances. Both of these things affect the way we all move through in the world. I believe that every person is doing their best. And we can all use a little help to get through the hard stuff - grief, loss, and trauma to move into acceptance and joy. All of this lives in our bodies, alongside our hopes, longings and fears. This is where we’ll begin our work together.

My work is informed by my experience as a Restorative Exercise Specialist, longtime yoga teacher, physical theatre performer, massage therapist, and most recently my studies of psychology and somatics (how we experience ourselves - in our bodies, in the world.

I am grateful to my teachers, mentors, and friends who have guided me in practices that have brought more awareness, creative expression, and wholeness to my being. They have shaped and supported my healing journey from dominance culture with fierce love and a slow and steady hand. They have offered me wisdom on how to be in relationship with our beautiful earth and the more-than-human world that helps us heal both forward and backwards in time. They have opened my heart. Thank you to the  Holistic Resistance team, Jos Houben,  Char Sundust, Maring Higa, Michelle Cassandra Johnson, Christina SellDarren Rhodesadrienne maree brown, Catrice M Jackson, Louiza Doran, Denise Benitez and Rev angel Kyodo williams .

I live in the pnw on Nisqually and Squaxin land with my love, 2 kids, and a sweet dog. I’m a modern quilter, mystery-loving bookworm, and current grad student. I wrote a blog for many years which is archived here.
